When designing a new collection, Mouret looks to numerous different sources for inspiration; art, film, nature and music. As we enter a new year and hopefully a brighter chapter than the last one, Mouret has been admiring this typography by Italian illustrator Olimpia Zagnoli, whose style is characterized by soft shapes and chameleonic colours. It serves as a motif for the year ahead - to live colourfully and always remember that at the end of a storm, there is a rainbow!

Zagnoli’s bright visions have been featured in a number of publications throughout the world, such as The New York Times, The New Yorker and Apartamento Magazine. They are strong and bold, bringing uplifting energy to those who look upon them.

If you’re an avid follower of Roland Mouret’s work then you’ll know that he has always been influenced by colour and strongly believes in the power of colour therapy - also known as chromotherapy.

Colours can influence the way we think, feel and behave. We can use them to help lift morale and our general wellbeing. In a time where we are all in need of a little extra boost we must look to new, and perhaps even old places to add colour into our lives whilst staying at home. And if it is colour that you're after then you needn't look further than Olimpia Zagnoli.

Her works engender a communal feeling and she talks powerfully about creating artwork for the greater good, and how that good could simply be a drawing that lifts someone’s mood.

“The world became in dire need of it...it gives hope that this industry really can make a difference. What I do is create images, which don't literally feed anyone, but perhaps they could feed someone’s eyes”
